Pleasant Hill, CA
One of the largest projects in Diablo Valley College’s history. The project has a strong emphasis on sustainable design with the goal of achieving LEED® Gold certification. The project involves two buildings connected by walkway in center of campus as well as a courtyard and common area.
This new building is centrally located on campus and surrounds a new central quad. One wing of the building contains administrative and student services spaces including an information center. The other wing houses all services for the school of Hotel & Restaurant Management. The first floor contains the servery, full service kitchen, demonstration kitchen, and indoor/outdoor seating. The second floor houses specialty instructional kitchens like the Bakery, Savory, and a la Carte, and the Norseman Room, a private dining room that can be rented out. In addition, students, faculty, and staff can enjoy the express bar, bakery, and candy store also located on the second floor. The third floor houses a large private event room overlooking Mt. Diablo that will be reserved for large University or District events.
Our engineering design team implemented sleek and low maintenance MEP systems including but not limited to radiant floors, active chilled beams, natural ventilation, LED lighting, and Ultra Low Flush fixtures.
